Human Remains
Notification should be done to Port health officers at least 24 hours prior to arrival, transit or departure of the human remains.
All human remains shall be accompanied by the following documents for the health clearance:
i. Embalming certificate stating that the dead body/human remains have been embalmed indicating the chemical used
ii. Death certificate in English or Swahili
iii. Personal identification documents of the deceased
iv. A letter from Kenyan diplomatic representatives, at the country where death occurred
v. Burial transit permit or cremation certificate
vi. Letter of approval from the Director general of health in case the death was as a result notifiable disease.
All Human remains should be placed in a hermetically sealed (airtight and water proof) casket.
